Topology-aware Temporal Matching of River Channel Networks
ABSTRACT
This work presents a method for tracking changes in estuaries and braided rivers over time. Using abstract graph-based representations of river networks, we introduce a method to establish correspondences between networks of the same river system captured in different years, enabling the identification and quantification of channel migration. We demonstrate the results of this method by applying it to the Western Scheldt, an estuary in the Netherlands.
